Persona and scenario creation

Personas are an extremely effective technique used to create websites focused on user needs and expectations. These hypothetical stand-ins can help you envision your website's real users, their goals, expectations and how they think and talk. Having these portraits will help you and your whole team create websites that really connect with your audience.

The next step is to create a number of scenarios for each of the personas – stories of how they would use your website in pursuit of their individual goals or to complete tasks. This is an extremely effective way of testing the usability of a site.

What we'll do

  • We'll look at who is using your website now – and who you would like to use it in the future. We will then create an agreed number of personas based on this data, complete with names, personal details, photos, web usage information and the words they would use to describe the content and concepts on your site.
  • We'll then create a number of scenarios for each of these personas, devising tasks that will challenge both the persona and the website.
  • Finally we'll look for lessons from each scenario – and tell you how you can act on what we've learned.
